HELP! TANTRUMS!
Free talk for parents
by Zsuzsanna Egry and Ildikó Selmeczy-Veres, certified Parenting by Connection Instructors
Our otherwise sweet child drops herself on the ground, cries her lungs out, and shakes her limbs in trance... for some kids it happens in a shop, for others when getting dressed, or when having to leave the playground. What is common in these situations is that we, the parents, live the carousel of feelings: shame, anger, desperation, exasperation, powerlessness etc.
We may try to ignore, shout louder, threaten or bribe our child out of the tantrum, but even if our attempts work for a while, the success is short-lived, as our child - more often than not - starts the same scene all over again.
Why do children cry and tantrum?
How can we help them (and ourselves) with the difficult feelings?
How can we handle tantrums in a way that does not erode, but on the contrary, strengthens our relationship with our child so we come out of it with a deeper sense of trust and connection?

HELP! I am losing it!
Why are we losing it with our kids, and what to do about it?
Parenting workshop by Zsuzsanna Egry and Ildikó Selmeczy-Veres, certified Parenting by Connection Instructors
Without emotions, there would be no juice in our relationship with our kids. However, what can we do when we feel that there are 'too many' emotions, from the difficult side of the spectrum? Where do they come from? How can we help our kids and ourselves? How can we protect them from our outbursts, and what can we do to stop ourselves before saying and doing things that we later regret? In this 3 hour workshop, we will explore these issues and develop strategies for our kids' and our own hot moments. You will get practical tools and a chance to practice them to:
- free yourself from the grip of hard feelings in the long run
- stop yourself from hurting your children when your mind is clouded with hard feelings
- use humour to disarm a potentially explosive situation

Setting Loving Limits
Parenting workshop by Zsuzsanna Egry and Ildikó Selmeczy-Veres, certified Parenting by Connection Instructors
Are power struggles with your child leaving you annoyed or exhausted? Are you wondering why your child just can't seem to listen? Are your own frustrations spilling over at home?
Every child has off-track moments – refusing to brush his teeth, being rough with the family pet, ignoring instructions, pestering a sibling. We at Hand in Hand know that, with conventional limit-setting techniques, these kinds of smaller difficulties can sometimes escalate into mounting stress on all sides.
Whether you're simply seeking fresh ideas, or you and your child are locked in a mystifying struggle, this 3 hour workshop provide the insights and strategies you're seeking. Our approach isn't based on rewards, punishments, natural consequences, bribes, or distraction. And we don't advocate permissiveness. Instead, we'll share proven ways to set warm, firm limits in a way that connects you and your child and fosters cooperation in your family.
