Project Conference Event in Prague

The Week for Respectful Childbirth is a vibrant festival held in Prague every year, and this year's event at Aperio had two very exciting features - a presentation of the results of the Education for Positive Birth, Parenting and Postpartum Project and lectures by Sara Wickham, well-known midwifery researcher and lecturer.

The Czech verision of Expecting App was "baptised" and officially launched at the event, and all the participants were invited to download and test the app. Project coordinators presented the curricula and showed previews of the book Pregnant - Your Friendly Guide to the Next Twelve Months, available this autumn, and shared their experiences with the Erasmus+ project. For many of the audience members this was the first time they heard that Erasmus+ was offered for adult education, and many showed interest in applying for a grant in the future.

This public event included the lecture titled "A positive view of childbirth" by Sara Wickham. She discussed how a positive attitude can change the experience of a woman and the whole family from birth. “We need to strengthen a woman's faith in her ability to give birth and not to disturb the natural the physiological process of delivery,” was one of the things she stressed in her talks.

Participants showed great interest in the lecture and the materials presented.
