Vision and Mission
Roda's vision is a society that actively works to fulfil the needs of and protect the rights of children, parents, future parents and families as a whole, including the right to autonomy and informed choice. Roda's vision includes equal opportunities and access to services for all parents, children and families, in whatever form they come in, including those from marginalized and at-risk groups, including but not limited to ethnic and sexual minorities, incarcerated parents and more.
Roda's mission is to transform society to act responsibly towards children, parents, future parents and families – especially mothers - through information, education, active lobbying and inclusion in the processes of change, as well as encouraging parents and other societal groups to question the status quo and be part of change.
Values and working principles
- We actively work on changing the system, not adapting to it.
- Children have full and equal rights as members of the society. Children have the right to optimal conditions for growth and development.
- A family is any group that considers themselves family, no matter how many members they have or their relationships to each other. Children flourish when they are raised in a family.
- Parents are capable of responsible parenting. Responsible parents are those who are prepared to take responsibility for the quality of the relationships between adults and children, including responsibility for the mistakes that are inevitable when raising children.
- Individuals have the right to informed choice based on knowledge.
- We emphasise prevention and dealing with issues before they become problems.
- We promote tolerance and acceptance of differences.
- We are open to cooperation with others.
- We aim for consistency in ethical fundraising, not accepting funds from industries whose products and marketing are not in accordance with our values.

- with the Ministry of the Interior (legislation regulating road traffic safety)
- with the Ministry of Health and ministry that regulates social services (legislation regulating medically assisted reproduction, basic health care, family services)
- with the ministries that regulate transportation and development (legislation relating to road traffic safety)
- with ombudspersons' offices, including the People's Ombudsperson, the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality, the Ombudsperson for Children and the Ombudsperson for Persons with Disabilities
